In
those days publishers were king. Often songwriters would share credits with the
publisher in order to get a chance at a song. Buddy's
publisher, Mort Browne, used the nom de plume
of Robert Bruce on many songs on his roster in order
to receive publishing and writing royalties. So did Billy
Rose, and many others.
"Jersey
Bounce" and many other popular tunes were used as names for planes
in WWII.
